This great tasting protein is packed with flavor and a bonus dose of omega-3. Enjoy as a sandwich, top a salad or scoop with with your favorite crackers.
1 Can Chunk Light Tuna, in Water (5 Oz.), drained, (4 oz.)
3 Tablespoons Hellmann’s Mayonnaise (original)
2 Tablespoons Celery, diced fine
3 Tablespoons Onion, diced fine
2 Teaspoons Sweet Relish, juice drained
Salt and Pepper to Taste
Sweet Pickles (gherkins), optional
1. In a small mixing bowl add the drained tuna, celery, onions, and if you prefer, salt and pepper.
2. Mix until well blended.
3. You can serve directly or refrigerate for about 20 minutes to let the flavors mingle.
5. Serve on your favorite bread, toasted or untoasted, with or without lettuce and tomato. Be creative and enjoy.
Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes: cut around stem carefully and remove. Hollow out the inside of the tomato and stuff with tuna. Top with a matchstick slice of celery. Enjoy
For Tea Sandwiches: Cut crust off 4 slices of bread, your choice. Slather a layer of tuna salad on two slices. Top with gherkin sweet pickles sliced lengthways. Confine the pickles near each corner so they remain intact while cutting. Top with slice of bread and cut each sandwich in fours making triangles or squares. Top with a chunk of pickle stabbed with a toothpick. Enjoy
